Communication is key!

Sometimes, you might need to contact your driver to give/ask information about your trip. While most apps have a built in messenger, please bear in mind that using a mobile device while driving is not just dangerous, but against the LAW! Please be patient if you expect a reply from your driver as we have to find a spot to park, set the brakes and turn the engine off before starting to message you back. A better option would be to call your driver directly, which can be done through the app.

Pick up and Drop off rules

This is a very important aspect to consider, specially when in a busy area with limited space to legally stop, and limited time to do so.

Despite the fact that Rideshare companies include a 2 to 5 minutes waiting time without compensation, the LAW will generally allow drivers to stop up to 2 minutes…. So please, be ready!

Where you can be picked up and drop off is pretty straight forward:

  • Dedicated Pick up/Drop off zones
  • Loading zones
  • Personal driveway
  • Proper parking spot…
  • THAT’S IT!
 

Those areas CANNOT be used:

  • Taxi Ranks/Zones
  • Bus Zones
  • Yellow lines
  • Middle of the road
  • Middle of intersection
  • Corner of a street
Not only they are not safe but will expose your driver to hefty fines and possibly loss of license and jail. Really? Let’s be honest! Could you afford it? I CAN’T! 😅

What's available on board...

For your comfort, there are a few things you can do or ask for to make the journey more pleasant. After taking a seat, please buckle up! and enjoy:

  • Complimentary water (please, if you decide to open a bottle, take it with you, do not open it, take a sip and put it back, this is so wrong!)
  • Complimentary Mentos (please make sure to dispose of the wrap properly, not hiding somewhere in the car, Easter is not everyday, and I’m not big on Hide & Seek…)
  • Free WiFi (please ask for it to be turned on, then click here)
  • Heated Seat (middle row only): for those chilli mornings or evenings, or whenever you feel a bit cold, press

  • Climate Control: Please ask for the temperature to be adjusted to your liking
  • Music: If you’d like to listen to a specific sound or type of music, please ask me or kindly ask Google out loud (Hey Google, play whatever!)

Thank you for travelling with DDZM on board of The Rex! I hope you enjoy the ride, the services and our interactions. After your trip, you will be prompted to rate your experience and possibly leave a tip.

  • When leaving the vehicle: please make sure you have all your belongings (Wallets, keys, phones, kids and… your rubbish!) We might kindly offer some water and some lollies, if you’d like those little extras, remember that they are offered to you kindness of the driver, not because the Rideshare company pays for it…. drivers do. In return, it would be fair to avoid leaving it to your driver as we have limited time between two rides. This is one of the main reason why drivers have stopped offering those little gestures.
  • Driver review: this is an important step, not only for the community (Riders and Drivers alike) but also for the wellbeing of the driver. This rating can affect your driver’s ability to keep driving on the platform. You might not realise that your imput can have drastic consequences for your driver. So please be kind and rate fairly. If you decide to leave a rating under 5 stars, please make sure you provide a fair explanation so your driver can improve the service.
  • Tips: If the ride was great and you feel like supporting your driver, that’s great! Fuel prices are still very high and is a big part of our business… so in insurance, in some cases, premiums have gone up more than 330%! (from under $3000/year up to $9600/year…. aouch. every reward given to your driver is always very appreciated, regardless of the amount. If you decide to do so, well…. THANK YOU SO MUCH LEGENDS!
